Celebrate the Small Things + Bloghop Reminder

Ahhh, it's Friday! The weekend is upon us!  VikLit always puts on a great Friday celebration!
This week I'm celebrating...

  • This past week the kids have watched their little sister all on their own for the very first time. They are super excited because they got paid for it. Too bad school starts on Monday cause they really had fun! They really showed us how responsible they are. So proud that I don't have to worry.
  • Dentist appointments for the kdis tomorrow and a party for the husbands department at work. (We work at the same company)
  • Today I'm sitting at home relaxing with the kids on their last day of summer vacation. I definitely not missing work.
  • Don't forget to check out the new bloghop, Jackie and I are throwing August 30th. Check it out below. And remember... you don't have to dig deep for a your confession... just share something about yourself that you normally won't. i.e. "I sample grapes before I buy them." See, super simple!

Jackie @Bouquet of Books and I have so much fun hosting blogfests that we decided it was time to do another one. This one is geared toward confessions...

These are my confessions **cue Usher music**

confession is a statement made by someone, usually a personal fact that they would not prefer to keep hidden.

Spill. We want to know what not-so-dark secrets you have. If you want to share the dark ones, by all means, but this is the world wide web, so... yeah, that saying "What happens in Blogosphere, stays in Blogosphere" ... That probably won't happen, so use your own discretion.

It can be fun facts about yourself, important memories, or a mixture of both.
We just want to learn more about you.

Examples:
Do you secretly love a one-hit-wonder band?
Do you snack on food at the grocery store?
Do you want to share a recent dream? Dirty or clean *wink wink*
Are you a road-rager? What things do you do when you’re road-raging?

The sky is the limit when it comes to confessions.
  • On Friday, August 30th, post your confessions.
  • Make sure to post the Confessions badge on your blog.
  • You don’t have to be a blog follower but we'd appreciate it.
  • You can also follow us on Twitter @danibertrand & @jackiefel and don’t forget to Tweet your blog confession using #confessions.
  • And most importantly, sign up in the Linky Thingy below and hop around to other blogs on August 30th!

Celebrate the Small Things

Ahhh, it's Friday! The weekend is upon us!  VikLit always puts on a great Friday celebration!
This week I'm celebrating...
  • Monday I expressed my love for WIP/Life Music!
  • Watched World War Z with my Honey! It was intense and AWESOME!!
  • Wednesday I shared What's Up!
  • Yesterday I was Liebstered!
  • The other day my Honey and I went and bought a Soffe tank (which I explained in my Wednesday piece) for an event that's coming up in July and while at the clothing store I walked past some Maxi dresses and Peasant skirts and he gave his opinion on both. He said he liked Peasant skirts over Maxi dresses. Now he didn't know them by name, he only pointed he said, "I like these over those." Then he proceeded to tell me he preferred solid colored tanks with the white bottom skirts. But he knows I like the colored bottom skirts too but white was his favorite. Now, don't get my husband wrong, he isn't controlling what-so-ever... he likes to think he is but he knows he has no control over this beast. But I did ask for his HONEST opinion and people that actually KNOW me, know that I REALLY REALLY want your actual HONEST opinion. What's the point if you're gonna candy coat? I mean he's the one that has to look at me. And he's the one I'm married to and the one I need to make sure I keep happy so why not make sure I have a few items in my closet he likes. Right?! Plus I'm short and busty so finding a Maxi dress that fits me is hard to come by anyways. (I've supplied pictures for the guys and maybe some gals that aren't sure what's clothes I'm talking about)
Peasant Skirt - I LOVE this outfit!!
Maxi Dresses
What are your opinion's of the skirt/dress debacle? Which do you like better for summer?

Have a happy Friday and weekend everyone!!

Celebration

Ahhh, it's Friday! The weekend is upon us!  VikLit always puts on a great Friday celebration!

This week I'm celebrating...
  • It being the first week of summer for the kids! I love when the kids are on summer break.
  • Mom taking the kids over night last night!
  • Today my youngest son turns 11 !
  • Last night the hubby and I watched Fast and Furious 6!! Woot!! OMG that movie rocked! I like my action fast, my cars fast, my men fast, er, I mean hot... I MEANT HOT! And this had hot men, fast cars, guns, action, fights, and some great laughs and one liners and maybe some baby oil... you have to watch to get the baby oil line.
Between Dwayne Johnson and this newcomer Kim Kold - I WANT to be stuck between "The Rock" and hard place tho Kim Kold was a bad guy.
***POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT IF YOU DON'T READ THE INTERNET***
And don't miss the small scene in the credits where we see the set up to FF7. Lord I can't wait for the next one! Jason Statham is the sexiest action hero in MY book and that man knows how to make the eff word sound attractive as hell. Plus it's my favorite word in the whole wide world.

  • Found the best tank online yesterday!!
Have a great weekend!!

Back to Celebrating Fridays

Now that April is over and my minion duties and posting for AtoZ isn't taking over my life (which I rather enjoyed - no that isn't sarcasm), I can go about my regular scheduled programing.

Which means today is Friday and Fridays are the Celebration over at Viklit! (Go to her blog and check out who else celebrates Fridays!)

Since I haven't shared my happiness in a month I have a lot to celebrate:
  • Tomorrow will mark the first week of owning my Jeep. I love it!
  • Most importantly - I finished AtoZ baby! At no point did I want to quit but there were a few times I wanted to slap bloggers. ;)
  • I read a ton during April.
    • Freakling by Lana Krumwiede (5 stars)
    • Chasers by James Phelan (3 stars)
    • Reached by Ally Condie (3.75 stars - the series as a whole gets 4 stars)
    • This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers (4.5 stars)
    • Ashen Winter by Mike Mullins (5 stars)
    • Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter (4 stars)
    • Magesterium by Jeff Hirsch (4 stars)
    • 172 Hours on the Moon by Johan Harstad (3 stars)
    • Zom-B (bk 2) by Darren Shan (4 stars)
  • On my shelf right now to read I have...
    • Unwholly by Neal Shusterman
    • Breathe by Sarah Crossan
  • Cover Girls first AtoZ went off without a hitch! And we have some great book reveals coming up in May and June.
  • I've joined several blogfests and hops for the month of May.
  • Jackie and I created a blogfest coming in June!
  • Don't forget you can always be a part of something bigger.
  • Express Yourself Meme will resume on Monday May 6th with new questions!
I think that's it. If not I will add them to next weeks list. Until then, have a great week!

What to expect from me next week...
  • Express yourself - Monday
  • My AtoZ Reflections post - Tuesday
  • Liebster Award - Wednesday
  • Sunshine Award - Thursday
  • Celebrations Post - Friday
  • May Monster Madness starts Saturday

Let's Celebrate

Yet again it's Friday which means VikLit @ Scribblings of an Aspiring Author weekly Meme Celebrate the Small Things is upon us!

Each Friday, post in your blog something you wish to celebrate | achieve | do that week. It can be anything from writing | reading | simple life thing as cleaning out a sock drawer.

This week I celebrate...

  • Signed up over at Blogging from A to Z April Challenge for a volunteering stint. They are needing minions to help out for some behind the scenes grunt work. Check that out here. Now, it is different from the regular A to Z Challenge which I signed up for last week at #48.
  • I got a lot of finacial business out of the way, and within the next few weeks or so I should be on my way to selling the two vehicles I currently own and purchasing a new one outright! It took a lot of hard work but it's finally paying off.
  • I watched Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. Oh my gosh I cried half of the time. I had been holding off watching this film just for that reason, but it was an incredible movie! The boy told an amazing story which moved me. It was powerful beyond words. A must watch but don't forget your tissues!
  • Been in cahoots this week so expect some impending blogfests from my chum Jackie and I in the upcoming months (NOT April).

So how was your week? Any news worth celebrating?! Oh I'm sure you do!
Have a great weekend!
