Would You Sleep Here? & Walking Dead Reminder

This was suppose to be my Thursday Undead post. However, I was trying to condense a 600 word scene into 250 words for the I'm Hearing Voices Character Blogfest (click here or scroll down to view it). It took all night I must admit.

My question to you is ... Would you sleep here?

Found this photo on Pinterest (I'm addicted).

Hope you enjoy and have a great weekend! Don't forget.... The Walking Dead mid-season premiere starts Sunday on AMC!

I'm Hearing Voices Blogfest - Flash Fiction

February 10th - Friday - Emotion Flash Fiction
Thanks to Cassie Mae and Angie - I'm Hearing Voice Character Blogfest as been an absolute riot to do. It helped me explore my characters more and meet some great new bloggers. I want to thank everyone for taking the time to read my entries and commenting. The feedback has been encouraging and kind.
Without further ado - here is my Flash Fiction between my protagonist, Reese, and her her sister, Rena - in 250 words (which BTW was very difficult).

“Rena! Stop!” Stephen demands, stepping closer.
Rena raises her hands out to me. Sparks swirl from them, engulfing me. Sufficating. Blue streaks race around my body, forming a paralyzing cocoon, suspending me in mid-air.
“I’m sick of always being in the dark,” I say, but not meaning to or knowing why. “If Sigyn wants her dead, then I will help her.” I realize the words flowing out of my mouth, are not mine, but Rena’s. Our energy, so powerful together, it links us in every way.
“Rena, put her down!” Two voices, my mother and aunts, command.
Balling her hands into fists, “Squeeze,” Rena sang.
My  sheath obeyed.
Levona and my mother surround Rena. Mom pulling a slender baton from her boot, as Aunt Lev hoists her staff, pointing it to the ground, a red, electric current, burns a trail behind their every stride, chanting “To be protected from you, This magic ring we will do, With these words we bind thee, For you to let her be, To be protected from your harm, we now seal you with this charm.”
Stephen, Tarrick, Cain, and Amos join in, each one wielding a different color of magic. The glowing ring hovers above the ground at Rena’s waist.
I softly whisper the spell with them. I figure if I’m going to die, why not with my pride attached.
The ring, withers, melting into Rena’s skin. She screams out in agony, wrapping her arms around her stomach. “What did you do?”

I'm Hearing Voices Character Blogfest - Day Deuce

From Cassie Mae's Blog:

February 8th - Wednesday - Diaplogue Introduction: Have two characters introduce each other using only dialogue - no backstory, no internalization, just dialogie between the two. Max 250 words.

Today is the second day of the I'm Hearing Voices Character Blogfest. You already met Rena, from my current WIP, yesterday. Charming wasn't she. Today you're going to hear a conversation that they had recently. I pinned a recording device to my protagonist, Reese's, sweatshirt. This is was was said.

“Come on Rena! You have to get to the party.”

“Why, Reese? Why do we even want to go to see the Counsil?”

“Beats the shit out of me. All I know is when I spoke to them yesterday; they said they wanted to speak to us both.”

“Great. So I wonder what secrets Levona and dad are gonna spring on us now.”

“I don’t have the foggiest idea Ms. Doom-n-gloom. And moms name is Leona. Levona is our Aunt. Plus I ain’t calling that man my dad. It’s Stephen until otherwise.”

“Shut up!”

“Don’t be dumb and put that down. If someone sees you with that-”

“Listen here you dumb bitch! We just found out each other exists and you expect me to remember every Tom, Dick, and Harry you grew up with, while I was ripped away from everything I knew, because you’re some Savior or some crap like that?”

“It’s Kirima, Monica, and Luka. Dipshit.”

“Whatev. Wait, what?”

“You said every Tom, Dick, and Harry. It’s Kirima, Monica, and Luka.”

“What about Tarrick?”

“I didn’t grow with him. We just met. In fact we only met a couple of days before you showed up to ruin everything. And don’t even think about going for your Switch again.”

“I can’t anyways. Remember? Leona cast the binding charm on me.”

“Right. Forgot. Sorry.”

“So is this the place?”

“Yup. Are you ready?”

“Not really but what choice do we have?”

“None.”

“That’s awesome.”

“Your sarcasm embodies you.”

“Welcome Realmwalkers.”

Characters on the couch

I’m Hearing Voices
Monday was day one of three for I'm Hearing Voices Character Blogfest. Cassie Mae was awesome enough to open the link again. You can check her blog out - Reading, Writing, and Lovin' it!

RULES:
Have one of your characters answer the following questions (to make this work to your benefit, choose a character who is the hardest for you to write :) Max 250 words (Not including the questions—only the answers).

What is your biggest vulnerability? Do others know this or is it a secret?
What do people believe about you that is false?
What would your best friend say is your fatal flaw? Why?
What would the same friend say is your one redeeming quality? Why?
What do you want most? What will you do to get it?

I’m a day late but NOT a buck short. Cassie Mae let me join in anyways. She’s full of awesomeness!

Me: Hello everyone. I want you to meet Rena. She's the sister to the protagonist in my WIP.

Rena: Whateva

Me: What is your biggest vulnerability? Do others know this or is it a secret?

Rena: That’s easy; I swear a lot. Oh and I can’t control my damn powers. Sometimes they work, sometimes… not so much. *she looks down at her hands, wiggling her fingers* My family knows. *she rolls her eyes*

Me: I take it you don’t get along with your family?

Rena: Never knew I had a sister or a mother until recently.

Me: What do people believe about you that is false?

Rena: They think I’m like them. I mean, I am, but I’m not. Not DNA wise, anyways.

Me: What would your best friend say is your fatal flaw? Why?

Rena: Fatal … as in death? Sheesh! Can we not think about that?  The closest person I’d consider a friend would be my sister and she’d probably say my temper would be my down fall.

Me: What would the same friend say is your one redeeming quality? Why?

Rena: Maybe, hmm, - *she opens her mouth to say something* - No not that either. This is hard. I’m a great person, I’m just, well, a little crass. I’m hoping she say my ability to be brutally honest. Everyone knows what their getting with me.

Me: What do you want most? What will you do to get it?

Rena: To help my sister stop some stupid b-

Me: Make it PG please! *she shoots me a look*

Rena: - to stop some stupid witch from killing us. I will get to live for one reason and two, so do you.

Me: Well then. I hope you and your sister kill her first. Thanks for coming in a chatting with me.

Rena: No prob. Everyone else is too afraid to talk to me.

Soooo! Does any one else have a friend - or sister - like Rena?

The Collector

The Collector is a 2009 American horror film, originally titled The Midnight Man, initially intended to be a Saw prequel, but the producers quickly dismissed it.

PLOT

My Verdict
This twisted, gut-clenching movie should have been the Saw prequel. It would have been the best in the franchise. The silent Collector eerily crept that bageezus out of me. The gore was GREAT! I flinch and cringed during the entire thing. From beginning to end, this movie provided me the skin-crawling heebee jeebees I wanted.
