Express Yourself - Love Scenes

Monday, Monday, da da...

So it's another Monday which means another Express Yourself questions is upon us! Jackie and I want you to: Name a Favorite Love Scene from a book or movie.

My first love scene ever...

Dirty Dancing starring Patrick Swayze as Johnny Castle and Jennifer Grey Frances "Baby" Houseman.

A couple full of innuendos...

Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
Movie starring Clark Gable as Rhett Butler and Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara

Loved the book and movie even better!

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
Movie starring Eric Bana as Henry DeTamble and Rachel McAdams as Clare Abshire-DeTamble

Love never goes down without freezing a fight...

Titanic starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack Dawson and Kate Winslet as Rose Dewitt Bukater

It should end the way it began... together...

The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks
Movie starring Ryan Gosling as Noah Calhoun and Rachel McAdams as Allison Hamilton

Hope everyone has a great Monday, Monday!

  1. I'm not much into "romance" movies, but I have to say that I think one of the best love scenes I've seen in a film was "Robin Hood:Prince of Thieves".

To this day, I still remember that kiss between Costner and Mary Ann Mastrantonio. The anticipation and the music were really well done.

  2. LOL, yeah, who knew 'eye staring and waist holding' could get a dame knocked up?

I'm trying to think of my favorite love scene...there's so many, so it's hard to choose, but I'll give it a go. Okay...Brad Pitt and Claire Forlani in Meet Joe Black. I think what makes the scene so awesome, is Joe's lack of experience. I'm sure you've seen it. If not, you must! :)

  3. Those were some steamy choices Dani. Titanic and The Notebook all the way. You'll see my pick tomorrow.

  4. Great choices here! I love all of them.
And The Time Traveler's Wife... we both love the same movie/book! Big surprise. :)

  5. Yeah, I'm a sucker for the romance movies. Predictable but always a happy ending. (Not Titanic, but never thought of it as a romance movie.)

  6. Holy Cats! What a very cool blog.

I have a love/hate relationship with romance books and yes, I know that is contradictory to the max. *BG*

  8. Great love scenes. I am a fan of all of them, except for the freezing Titantic where Leo dies. Even though you know it's coming, it still stings every time.

  9. My favorite love scene is when ET dies and then comes back to life. The boy is so broken up, and I cry my eyes out every time. I also cry in "Armageddon" when the Bruce Willis character sacrifices himself and his daughter is begging him not to.
Yeah, I know that's not what you're looking for, but it's the best I can do. lol

  10. LOVE ALWAYS! I absolutely adore the scene(s) where the son and Dad go racing off to catch the boys love interest at the airport!! :)

  11. I think I saw dirty dancing like 10 times and I don't recall the scene you're including here. Centuries are leaving traces in my brain already, I guess. :)

  12. Huh, she really spent a lot of time with her legs wrapped around him in The Notebook, didn't she? I love various scenes in Say Anything. Plus the ending in Easy A that copies all the popular love scenes (tractor, fist in the air, radio blaring). Ha!
