What Am I Listening To

So it’s one of THOSE mornings where I plug my ears with my earbud’s, put my head down and barrel through my day at work. Hopefully unscathed.

In honor of all the songs I’ve been listening to, I’ve written some of the lyrics down (each color is a different song). You’re job – if you choose to accept – (without cheating) guess what I’ve been jammin’ to.

This message will self-destruct once you’ve commented. Commencing 3… 2… 1…

How you gonna win, when you ain't right within?!
How you gonna win, when you ain't right within?!
How you gonna win, when you ain't right within?!
Unh-Unhh Come Again!

Oh that’s it
Now honey, honey come ride
DKNY, all up in my eye
You gotta a Prada bag with a lotta stuff in it

You got, you got, you got, you got, you got
You got the boomin’ system but it’s blastin out doo
Do you think it’s chocolate milk, but it’s watered down yoohoo
I been through many times for which I through I might lose it
The only thing that saved me, has always been music
We got our studio, it’s under the G, it’s no question
Life’s been good to me ‘cuz life ain’t nothing but a good groove
A good mix tape to put you in the right mood

I need someone to show me the things in life that
I can't find I can't see the things that make true happiness
I must be blind Make a joke and I will sigh and you will laugh and I will cry
Happiness I cannot feel and love to me is so unreal
And so as you hear these words telling you now of my state
I tell you to enjoy life I wish I could but it's too late

Nine o’clock this morning
She left without warning
I let her take advantage of me
You see, she got what she wanted

Reaching out for something to hold
Looking for love where the climate is cold
Manic moves and drowsy dreams
Or living in the middle between the two extremes

Today is gonna be the day that they’re gonna throw it back to you
By now you shoulda, somehow, realized what you gotta do
I don’t believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now.

Outside’s the rain, the driving snow
I can hear the wild wind blowing
Turn out the light, bolt the door
I ain’t going out there no more.

Nightmares, Night Mares, and Desires

I haven’t blogged since Monday! What the heck!

Good explanation... NIGHTMARES + WRITING = more NIGHTMARES!

Since I’ve signed up for that stupid awesome zombie 5k, I have had nothing but absurd dreams. First it was me falling and hurting myself. Then it was the stunt zombies turning into real zombies. Follow by just plain mass hysteria and getting attempted ankle chops. Uuuggghhh!

Lately my dreams have turned into just weird but writable. It went for NIGHTMARES to NIGHT MARES. These damned demon horses! They are dangerous – of course! But there is something so profound and beautiful.

To see a horse in your dream symbolizes strength, power, endurance, virility and sexual prowess. It also represents a strong, physical energy. You need to tame the wild forces within. The dream may also be a pun that you are "horsing around". Alternatively, to see a horse in your dream indicates that you need to be less arrogant and "get off your high horse". If the horse has two heads (one on each end), then it implies that you are being pulled into two different directions. Perhaps your strength or power is being divided. Or you are confused about some sexual matter.
To see a black or dark horse in your dream signifies mystery, wildness, and the unknown. You are taking a chance or a gamble at some unknown situation. It may even refer to occult forces. If the horse is white, then it signifies purity, prosperity and good fortunes. To dream that you are being chased by a white horse, may be a pun on chaste. Perhaps you are having difficulties dealing with issues of intimacy and sexuality.
To see a dead horse in your dream indicates that something in your life that initially offered you strength is now gone. This may refer to a relationship or situation. Consider the phrase "beating a dead horse" to indicate that you may have maximized the usefulness of a certain circumstance.
To see a herd of wild horses in your dream signifies a sense of freedom and lack of responsibilities and duties. Perhaps it may also indicate your uncontrolled emotions. If you are riding a wild horse, then it represents unrestrained sexual desires.
To dream that you are riding a horse suggests that you are in a high position or position of power. Alternatively, it indicates that you will achieve success through underhanded means. You lack integrity. If you are riding a horse that is out of control, then it means that you are being carried away by your passions.
To see an armored or medieval horse in your dream refers to your fierceness, aggression, power and/or rigidity. You may be too confrontational. Alternatively, you may be trying to protect yourself from unconscious material or sexual desires that are emerging.
To dream that you are bathing a horse represents a renewal of strength and vigor. You are experiencing a burst of energy in some aspect of your life.

Okay… So from the highlighted parts above I am experiencing mystery, wildness, and the unknown. à Duh! I’m going to be chased by zombie wannabe’s.
I feel freedom from doing the race but at the same time I’m experiencing a sexual desire. à Hmmmm, the last part is a common feeling.
Confrontational à Of course! Zombies don’t go away by shooting them dirty looks. And again with sexual desires!
So while you – my lovely followers and blogging community – are wondering why I’m not blogging as much lately – it’s because I’m preparing for my stupid awesome 5k, writing about my uncalming but wonderful dreams, and apparently trying to get into my husband’s pants.
What has been keeping you up lately?!

Don't forget our upcoming Bloghop June 12th and 14th!

Jackie @ Bouquet of Books and I are hosting the First Fight/First Kiss Blogfest

Why is it perfect?

While Jackie adores the kissing and hand holding scenes, I’m the “give me fat lips and magical dueling any day of the week” type girl, the bloodier the better. Though Jackie also likes fight scenes; I HATE to write love scenes. I find it difficult to get in touch with my soft side. This blogfest forces many of us to work on other scenes that we may not like and make them shine.

Also what happens after a good argument? - Making up!

Share your 1st FIGHT and 1st KISS scenes in your MS’s or WIP’s. Crack open your current project or dive back into an old one. We want to feel what your characters feel. From the sting of their first fist-to-the-face to the tingling taste of their first kiss.

If you’re not a writer, please share with us your real life firsts. We want to read and experience them all!

The First Fight/First Kiss blogfest will go as such:

  • Post 1 will be on Tuesday, June 12 - Share with us your 1st FIGHT scene on your blog. It can be physical or verbal, fists or magic, vampires or zombies, fictional or non-fictional. Whichever you want to share.
  • Post 2 will be on Thursday, June 14 - Share with us your 1st KISS scene on your blog. It can be a peck on the cheek or a full fledge kissing session. Whatever you would like to tell us.

Details for the First Fight/First Kiss blogfest:

  • Follow Jackie @ Bouquet of Books & myself if you haven’t already. (We will follow back)
  • Sign up using the linky thingie below.
  • Display the gorgeous First Fight/First Kiss Blogfest button on your blog. Go grab our button on the left sidebar.
  • Post your 1st fight entry on June 12, 2012.
  • Post your 1st kiss entry on June 14, 2012.
  • Hop around to the other blogs and comment on their wonderful 1st fight and 1st kiss scenes.
Prizes? Absolutely! Jackie and I will each pick our favorite scene from each day. That’s 4 prizes total, folks. What are the fabulous gifts for the winners? $10 email-giftcards to Amazon or Barnes & Noble so you can choose that book you’ve been wanting or download it to your Kindle or Nook.

Mean Mom Alert

A few weeks back I walked into my daughters' room and she was taking FB pictures so I asked to look at them...

"Uh huh. You are not posting these. What is up with you girls and these stupid poses?"

Insert irritating voice here "But mom, everybody is doing it. You're soooo mean."

I walked away.

You know the ones...

The eternal sad face, the tongue (pull your shirt up), and - Oooo the tongue and a peace sign (multi-tasker)
but that's not all... you also have the DUCK FACE which is the most revaulting!

Please STOP THE MADNESS. Leave the duck face to cast of Duck Tales, Donald Duck, Darkwing Duck, and you know... real ducks.

So to show her how stupid it looks I took these. Don't laugh, I have no makeup on... ok, you can laugh... I did

Sad face, tongue, and duck face slash peace sign.

So being the mean mom that I am. I took these, walked back up to my daughters' room and said

"For every one of those pictures you post, I'll post one of mine and tag you in each one so your friends can see them."

Again, insert whiny voice here, "Mooooommmmm, you can't do that!"

"Why not? You said EVERYONE is doing it."

This is the picture she posted...

 Smart girl!

Minecraft! Ugh...

My son is addicted. No joke. It's his crack.

I walk in the door from work and the first thing is NOT "Hi", "I love you", or "What's for dinner". It's "Can I get on the computer? Pleeeeeeease!"

"Yea yea, whatever."

It's an everyday routine and I really don't care. He should just stop asking and get on.

After he sits at the PC, he starts skyping cause, you know, you can't play any game now-a-days without talking to the person you're playing with. May it be Xbox live or your phone or your iPod. After I hear him say "Are you on?" then I know he is not talking to me anymore for the next 3 hours. No joke, the kid can play that game for 3 hours.

Then the words spawning, looting, griefing, the nether, pillaring, boosters, mining, creepers, zombies, skeletons, slimes, spiders, jockies, ghasts, pigmen, etc.

I heard the word spawning and ask if it's about fishing. His friends laughed and he was mortified. Little did he know - I was serious.

They play for hours until one of them steals from the other and then I only get to hear one side of the arguement. Arg!

My son sits there with his ear buds in so he can hear them but I can't. Then on top of the ear buds (which are for skyping) he has an even bigger pair of headphones ON TOP of the ear buds so he can hear the game. Really?!

The catch - they can hear everything I say. Last night I apparently said something amusing cause my son tells the girl (Ash - from Seattle) that I am NOT funny.

He mutes his iPod "Mom stop. They think you're funny!"

"God forbid. They? I thought you were talking to Ash."

"I'm on a conference call with Ash and Keviel (from Cali)."

"A conference call? For crying out loud."

He gets back on and says, "Everybody thinks she's funny. I don't get it." And when I don't walk away he mouths the words You're so mean!

If I'm mean that means I'm doing a good job right?! Who doesn't want a funny parent?

Thursday Ugh

Uuuuuugh!

Typing this - I can barely keep my eyes open.

Uuuuuugh!

Damn Hatfield and McCoy keeping me up all hours of the night.

First I watched and then I dreamt.

Then my kids were making fun of me cause I was talking all crazy and crap. Tarnation!

Got me a cherry pie in the baker this mornin y'all. No Seriously. I put one of those pot pie pies in the easy bake toaster oven here at work.

fjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjdddddddddddddddddddfjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj

Oops sorry. Dozed off.

Yesterday - besides staying up to damn long - I registered my daughter at her new school. The day before - Tuesday - I did the same for my son. Back in February we moved from our small country town to a much larger city. And the past few months I have been driving my kids an hour to school everyday so they could finish at their old schools.

My oldest is going to be a Freshman. FRESHMAN (good song)! We picking his classes while he himmed and hawed about it. See, he has played the trumpet for three years in Middle school and didn't know if he wanted to continue with it. After a few minutes he chose German and Graphic Design as his electives. I am just proud he made a choice. It usually takes him FOREVER!

Next was my second oldest and she's starting the 7th grade next year. She also plays an instrument - flute - and wasn't sure if she wanted to do band again. She didn't. She selected Art, Computer Tech, and TV Production plus PE.

PE Uuuggghhh!

Ok, so when I saw TV Production as a choice, I was so jealous! Where the heck was that when I was in school? Granted it was 22 years ago since I was in the 7th grade and I went to this rinky-dink podunk country school, but still. Jealous!

Kid #3 is going to the 4th grade so he is still forced to take whatever the school wants him too and my youngest is 2 and I'm not sending her off quite yet.

Have a great Thursday and try to stay awake!

Mermaids, Hatfields and McCoys

Still frame from video of creature on the beach
Ok, ok... did anyone see Mermaids: The Body Found this weekend on Animal Planet? It was featured during Monsters Week. Anyways ... talk about freakin' me the freak out. Personally I thought the creature on the beach was a bit fake looking and really ... did those two boys really just "stumble" across it? No?! Yeah, me either.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I would flippin' keel over and die if Mermaids, Mermen, Merperson's were are real. I mean, where did all the legends come from anyways? And I'm not just talking about Mercreatures, I'm talking about all the kit-and-cuboodle. Vampires, Lockness, Werewolves, Ghosts, Fairies, and so-on. Ya know - the things that go bumps in the night.

The legends had to come from somewhere, right?!

Right?!

Just nod your head. That's right, just nod.

Moving on -

Last night I stayed up WAY past my beddiby to watch Hatfields and McCoys. You know ... the damned feud over a pig. A PIG!

My opinion (which really means nothing) is ... the pig wasn't the cause of the feud. It was mearly the straw that broke the camels back.

Randolph "Ole Ran'l" McCoy was pissed the William Anderson "Devil Anse" Hatfield went AWOL and left his war brothers behind. Hey, Hatfield told McCoy that it was a fools mission to carry on and he wasn't wrong. After Hatfield left, McCoy and seven other survivors were housed in a prison camp in OH. After the war was over, McCoy came home to a town the Hatfields ruled.

The Hatfields took back what was wrongfully stolen by the McCoys and it didn't sit well with Ole Ran'l. Then here comes a Hatfield strolling along with the runaway pig Randolph family lost. It was the cottonpickin' ear mark.

During Trial a McCoy flopped and sided with the Hatfields. Everything went downhill from there. All Hell broke loose.

Men were killing one-a-notha. Y'all.

Johnson Hatfield and Roseanna McCoy couldn't be together. And it left off with Devil gathering fella's up to rescue his boy who was to be murdered by dawn.

Did anybody else stay up too damn late to watch it? *Yawns*

What did you think of the Mermaids? Real/fake?

Who do you side with? Hatfields/McCoys?

Are you related to them? Their kin-folk are everywhere. I researched it! Honest!

Memorial Wkend & Funny Friday

It's also the last day of school for the kids and this makes me uber excited.

I MEAN UBER EXCITED!

I love my kids at home. I know where they are. I know what they're eating. I know what they're playing. And I KNOW they are not being picked on or BULLIED. Ho hum.

In honor of the forth-coming Memorial Weekend, I'm giving a little tribute shoutout for my brother...

2002 - I was 9 months prego in this pic. Oh my word, I'm HID! EE! OUS!

PFC. Anthony Wagner
June 1980 - November 2002

Ok so now on to the funny part...

Last week we were packing the van up to go the lake.

I was in the back loading up sand toys and whatnot when I heard my two yr old say and I shit smurf you not...

"Can someone get my door peaze... Jeezus!"

I about died! ... Laughing that is.

Next thing I hear...

"Danielle! That's all you!"

Now I'm getting reprimanded by my husband. I do have to admit, I'm the "Jeezus" name dropper. My husband is the "Jackass" dropper. So needless to say I have my hands full and by my own accord.

But if I get called "Jackass" one more time I'm slapping my husbands mouth and not my daughters'.

Happy Friday and have a SAFE Memorial Weekend.

Hoorah!
