Hahaha, I will be joining the Jedi squirrels by the end of this challenge! I think the girl in the cover is at peace. And Jimmy Jet is good to teach little children a lesson about watching too much TV.
I remember "Jimmy Jet." In my brain, I tend to get that one jumbled up with the Mike Teavee song from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." No doubt, Silverstein and Dahl were in one another's rolodexes!

Jedi squirrels really would be terrifying. There aren't many places they can't get to and they can be pretty sneaky as it is. Imagining them with light sabers.... yeesh. Elliot We Are Adventure
I love your poem. At first I didn't look closely at the illustration and I though Jimmy was one of the watchers. Then as I read, and looked again . . . fantastic.

I never read the Jimmy Jet poem before. It reinforces my aversion to TV. :-) And Ohhhh nooooo, lol,not Ninja squirrels. :-) Nice "J" post. :-)
