Express Yourself - Reading

Happy Victoria Day to my Canadian followers!

This week's Express Yourself question is: What are you Reading right now? It can be anything.

Jackie and I know that life gets busy but there is always room to read a little. And by reading we don't mean a full length novel. You can be reading comics, mags, novellas, etc.

So what has been keeping my mind busy?

Lots!

The library loves me - or is it, I love the library.

I can't read more than one book at a time unless one of them is an audio novel. Out of this bunch sitting on my desk, I am currently reading The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey.

So, what are you reading?

  1. I love this Meme idea! I'm currently listening to the audio version of The Round House by Louise Erdrich and reading all the political flyers coming in the mail for the L.A. mayoral election (ugh!).

  2. I'm reading Austenland by Shannon Hale. I also can't read two things at once - way too confusing.

  3. You're the second person to say you're reading the 5th Wave today. Must find it on Goodreads.

  5. I've still got some unfinished MG books hanging around from all the stuff I checked out for my end-of-semester portfolio in my Children's Lit class. Right now I'm finishing The Fences Between Us, a Dear America book based on the real-life story of a Baptist pastor who chose to follow his Japanese-American congregation to an internment camp in Idaho during WWII. It's told from the POV of his daughter Piper, which strikes me as a very anachronistic name for the era.

  6. I've never been able to get into audio books, they just don't read it like I would lol
I'm curious about the 5th wave, maybe you'll share your thoughts when you are done? At the moment.. I'm reading blogs, that counts doesn't it? :D I'm about to browse the collection of one-clicks I have in my Kindle and decide from there.

  13. Color me intrigued by the spine of that "UnWholly" book!

Right now, I'm reading The Anatomist's Wife by AnnaLee Huber. It's a bit out of the way of my normal reads, as for mysteries, I prefer "cozies," but it's set around the start of the Victorian Era, which I dig (also really enjoy the Regency period). Plus, I generally prefer romance novels and some horror (if either's liberally peppered with humor, so much the better). :-)
    Some Dark Romantic
